Tackling Plastic

Tackling Plastic

What's the problem?

Plastic isn’t all bad. It’s actually a great material that helps us navigate our busy lives.

It’s our misuse of plastic that’s the problem. We pointlessly use plastic everyday. Most of it is thrown away within minutes of use. Most plastic ends up in landfill or as litter and can take up to a thousand years to break down.

This misuse of plastic is crippling our environment, killing wildlife and damaging our health.

It's up to every business, every organisation, every school, every individual to tackle and find ways to reduce our use of pointless plastic. The 5RS below are a great way to start!

Make your commitment to reducing your use of pointless plastic. Find out more by visiting the Live Here Love Here Plastic Promise page. You can make a Plastic Promise as an individual, community group or organisation. Together we can kick the habit of pointless plastic.

Our litter loathing puppet is 'absolutely ragin' about single-use coffee cups, plastic bags, plastic straws  and marine litter and Barry the Blender Henderson saying 'ditch the straws ya posers'! Help us to raise awareness of pointless plastic by sharing on Facebook.
